Rob Middleton

Mr Middleton is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon practising in Bournemouth and Poole in Dorset.

He holds NHS appointments as an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip surgery at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and as Director of Trauma at Poole Hospital.

His specialist interests include minimally invasive surgery, enhanced recovery, micro computer aided surgery, and complex disorders of the hip.

Mr Middleton is recognised both nationally and internationally for his work. In 2008 he was appointed as the National Clinical Lead in hip and knee replacement at the NHS Institute of Innovation and Improvement. In this role he specialises in the development of enhanced recovery techniques for patients which enables faster recovery and better outcomes from surgery.

He is also a highly active researcher and has worked on the development of new techniques in orthopaedic surgery for the last fifteen years. This work has led to his appointment as a Visiting Fellow at Bournemouth University.
